Freshly Made Sketches 210

I thought I would play along with FMS, as I really like the sketch.  Here is my card:
and this is the sketch.
As you can see I have switched it around a little.  Unfortunately I have missed the link up, but I enjoyed the challenge. Thanks for looking.

Snippets Playground week 201

Hello there.  What a beautiful Sunday it has been.  Here is my make for the Playground.  I did
a 'his n her' design - just two of many cards for the  birthdays I have through November and December.  Here they are -

The first card is on a white base with crisp cantaloupe and coastal cabana colours, and the second is on a silver grey base with rich razelberry and pacific point colours.  Thanks for looking.  Lynn x

A little bit purple

Hi everyone, I know it is a 'long time no see', but I have had issues trying to use my very worn out camera to post pics.  This is one that I have scanned in on a new printer.  Here goes :-)

Not bad - I could have done with editing a little more and taken some of the 'whiteness' out.  The card base is actually wisteria wonder, and a 6x6 inch card.  So it is what it is, and shows no background -
but at least it is blogged!  As this card has used up some scraps of card to make the flowers and leaves, I shall be joining in the Snippets Playground.  I haven't been there for a while.  I do hope Di is on the move, and that her back problems are more manageable.

I am looking out of my window at the gorgeous colours of autumn - and it is so mild outside!  Certainly a day to make you smile.  Enjoy your day.

Snippets Playground week 194

Hi there, I cannot believe that we are half-way through September already - Mr. Time needs to put some brakes on!
Here is my card for Di's Snippets Challenge.  I love her 'crazy bird' card - I am saving really hard to get these Tim Holtz stamps.
There are lots of snippets here.  The embossed and inked paper was from that huge pile of differing whites.  The stamped image was placed on a scrap of paper which had mopped up my spritzed inks from the blending mat, and the sentiment was from a piece of scrap I discarded earlier, and I rescued from the bin.

I am ready to post into the playground now.  I do hope that Di is feeling a little better.

Snippets playground 191

Hello everyone, I do hope you are enjoying what is left of your weekend.  They certainly whizz past.
Here is my card for Di's Snippet Playground challenge.
The image is from the Makey Bakey Mice CD from Crafter's Companion.  So cute!  Lots of white snippets used here, and a little bit of dry embossing and sanding for the border. Off now to link up, and finish watching Murdoch Mysteries. I can never work out 'whodunnit', lol.  See you soon.

Fast track mail

Hi all, I have a card to show, for no challenge, but just to put in my stash.  It uses the adorable Penny Black hedgies.  This must now be the most used stamp in my collection.
I used an old sketch from Deconstructed Sketches.  Thanks for looking.

Floral thanks to Di - Snippets Playground 189

Hello there, I have a card to share for the Snippets Playground.

This uses a new die from diecut essentials magazine, some scraps of coastal cabana card, and white card.  The emboss folder is part of the Tim Holtz brick wall and the sentiment is SU.  The ribbon is also a scrap from a package, which matched perfectly with the flowers.  This card is going over to Di's Snippets playground, and it is a thank you to Di for posting off my prize so quickly.  It is a beautiful hot air balloon die from Joanne Sheen signature dies, and I shall be making a card with it later this week.  See you soon.

Butterfly challenge 36 - Washi tape

Hi there, here is my card for Mrs. A's butterfly challenge, and this time around it is to use washi tape on  your card, as well as the butterfly/butterflies.  I don't use a lot of washi tape,  but I did get some from SU when it was on weekly deal.  Here I have used the ' hello honey' colour, and the 'peek-a-boo' method I found on You Tube, which I pinned to my board, and you can find the link HERE.
The  banner is a stamp and die cut from Clearly Besotted.  Now, what I was really pleased about, is that this card turned out larger than my A6 envelope, so I had the chance to play with the new envelope calculator on Carole's blog, and the link is HERE.  It works!

Hope you enjoy the video, and get to play with the envelope creator.  See you soon. Lynn x

LIM - Snippets for Chrissie

Hi there, happy Friday.  Here is my card for Chrissie, the lovely lady over on the Less is More blog, who has celebrated a big birthday.  Happy belated birthday wishes Chrissie.  This is the LIM challenge to use snippets for Chrissie, and here is my card.
Hopefully, this is clean and simple enough.  I used bits of white card to stamp and layer for this card, and to make the little tags.  The stamp is SU, and I think appropriate for those special birthday celebrations.  Thanks for looking - I will go and link up now to LIM and Snippets Playground.

Snippets Playground

This is my card to be entered into Di's Snippets Playground this week.  I used all the snippets which were lying on my craft table, and I used my freebie spiral rose die which I have had for a few weeks now.

This week Di has teamed up with the ladies from Less is More, for a snippets challenge, but I think this card is too fussy for a LIM challenge, so I shall have to think about a new design for that little challenge.

I will be back soon.  Happy crafting.

Butterfly challenge # 35 - tallisman

Hello there, hope you are enjoying a brand new week. I did not think I would be able to take part in Mrs. A's challenge this week as I wasn't sure I had a tallisman (charm).  However, I delved deep into my old stash and found a handbag charm, and then I went from there.  Here is my card.

The handbag charm gave me the colours, and the idea to use the dress-up framelits dies from SU and also the butterfly die.  The banner stamps are from the Kimono range from Crafter's Companion.  I just had enough scrap ribbon to match the coastal cabana colour.  The backing paper and the paper for the butterfly are from Pink Petticoat Floraline design.  I quite enjoyed putting this little card together.  Have a good week.

Snippets playground 186

Hello everyone, I do hope you are enjoying the sunshine.  My card today comes from an inspirational sketch (no. 2) from Jules (Always with a heart).  She has put a few sketches on a tab on her blog for 'us crafters' who have those "foggy moments".  I do have quite a few of those, lol.  So thank you Jules for allowing me to use some of your inspiration.  As some of the papers and white card are snippets this card will be entered into Di's Snippets challenge.

The papers and stamp are from SU, and the sentiment is a Clearly Besotted stamp.  Please take a look at the sketch on Jules' blog HERE.

Butterflies and Gems (Butterfly challenge #34)

Hi there, I do hope everyone has enjoyed the sunshine.  I did not realise I had been so busy and not posted for a while.  Here is my contribution to Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge, which uses gems this time around.  Now it took a while for me to locate my gems - I finally found them in my scrap box, obviously carefully tidied away then, lol.

This uses stamp sets from SU, and the colours are pear pizazz and so saffron.  The patterned cardstock is a coredinations, which is a snippet from a 12x12 sheet, so this card will be going over to the snippet playground.  Thanks for looking.

Butterflies and flowers - challenge 33 butterfly challenge

Hello to you all.  At last, I have been able to photograph a card before it has found its way out of the door  Here is my card for Mrs. A's butterfly challenge.
I shall be needing a few 'thank you's' soon.  The kraft cardstock, butterfly, dies and emboss folders are all Crafter's Companion.  The sentiment is a freebie from a while ago, and the coloured card is SU Crisp Cantaloupe.  As this card uses offcuts of coloured and white card, I shall also be skipping over to the Snippets Playground.  Haven't played in there for a while.  Hope I catch the ice-cream van!

Butterfly Challenge No. 31 - D for Doily

Hi there everyone, it has turned out to be a sunny, but windy day here.  Such a beautiful Spring day.
I have my card to join in with Mrs. A's challenge, and here it is:

I got my inspiration from my pinterest board, the card you can find here found of heartshugsandflowers.com.  The stamp is an SU one from Delicate Doilies, and the text is from Clearly Besotted.  The flowers are a diesire die.   The colours are coastal cabanna and crisp cantaloupe from SU.  Enjoy the rest of your Thursday.

Butterfly challenge - jagged edges

Hello everyone, in between decorating the bathroom, I have managed to make a card for Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge.  I found inspiration from my pinterest board with this card https://uk.pinterest.com/source/zhazhda-tvorchestva.blogspot.co m/.  Here is my creation, using the new Pink Petticoat French Country Collection papers and colours.
The colours are pear green, custard, and tea rose, but unfortunately the flash does not like them, and certainly does not do the colours justice.  The jagged edges are of course the torn paper and vellum, the deckled edges die for the frame, and the vellum feathers.  Flowers, butterfly and sentiment are all Crafter's Companion.  Thanks for looking.  Lynn x

A play with Thelwell CD

I have been playing around with the Thelwell CD from Crafter's Companion.   Here is what I have made.

I thought I had taken a photo of the  back of the trifold to show the other tag, but unfortunately not, and the card has now been sent.  I have not done a trifold card for ages, but enjoyed this.  The ticket die is a diesire one from CC.  Thanks for looking.

Butterfly challenge - Lace (29)

Here is  my card for Mrs. A's butterfly challenge.
For the lace I have used the new Pink Petticoat Doodlie Doilies paper in cherry blossom colour.  The stamps are SU, and the border is washi tape placed on vellum.  The butterflies are from the SU thinlets dies (soon to be discontinued).  Thank you for looking.  Have a lovely Saturday.

Pixies Snippet Playground #173

At last, today I have a decent internet connection!  Here is a card I made earlier -

This card uses up my red cardstock and candy dots.  The chevron paper is a crafter's companion download, and the rest of the cardstock is SU basics.  The main sentiment on the medallion is from Digistamp Boutique *here* (large birthday sentiments), and the other text is computer generated using Tahoma and Bradley Hand.  I'm off to link up at the playground now.  See you soon.  Lynn x

Butterfly challenge + Musical notes (28)

I am not so late this week for Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge, but I did have to put my thinking cap on.
I don't have any appropriate stamps, but looking through my cardstock I found a smidge of musical note DSP which I had from Stampin' Up quite a while ago.  So here is the result -
Not much music going on here, but I hope it's enough for Mrs. A's approval :-).  I am off now to link up and take a look and comment on some of the lovely creations.  See you soon.

Freshly Made Sketches 181

The Freshly Made Sketches sketch was a good one to play around with:
and I was really inspired by Cindy Lovell.s card, which replaced the horizontal strip with a sentiment:

so here is my card taken from this beautiful creation:
The sentiment is from Digistamp Boutique, and is one of a few on the sheet of 'large sentiments' which you can find here. The stars are from a stamp set by Clearly Besotted.  The backing paper is from Pink Petticoat, the new colours collection.  Thanks for looking.   Lynn x

Butterfly Challenge - in a corner (no.27)

Hi there, dashing in with a last minute card for Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge.  Although I say dashing, this card was a labour of love with the amount of smudges I had to cover up *smiles*.
I bet you are looking really close now, aren't you - come on - own up! (snigger).  This used the Butterfly Basics stamp set and dies from SU, a Marianne die for the tag, and the little bees were from the Collage Curios.  The colours are Baked Brown Sugar and Pumpkin Pie.  As the tags were snippets, I shall run into the Snippets Playground and say hello to Di.  See you soon. Meet LEO

Hello everyone, I do hope that you  enjoyed your Easter weekend.  I have not blogged in a while, and the reason for this?  I have been very busy introducing my new best friend to the household.  Please meet Leo -

He is a 9 month old King Charles Cavalier and he is extremely mischievous!

I will be back soon to show some cards I have made. Enjoy your Bank Holiday Monday.  A bit misty here, but the sun is just trying to  break through.

Butterfly Challenge 26 - Patterned paper and butterflies

I am just about in time for Mrs, A's Butterfly Challenge, and I really wanted to use my new butterfly dies from SU.

Aren't they gorgeous?

I have used the paper players sketch for inspiration.  The patterned papers I have used are from Pink Petticoat new collection, Floraline Linen.  As I have used a snippet of silver mirror board, I shall scoot over to the Snippets Playground too.  See you all soon.  Happy Crafting. Lynn x

Mojo Monday 389

Hi everyone, it has been busy at my neck of the woods so I haven't posted for a few days.  Hope all is well with you all.  I have used the Mojo Monday sketch you see here as my starting point for my wonderful mum's birthday card

Here I have used pattern papers from Pink Petticoat, along with the new Mums Sentiments.  The flowers are SU Secret garden. Thanks for looking.

Hexagons and butterflies challenge 25 - Take two

Hello, on this beautiful sunny day!  I have another card for Mrs.A's Butterfly Challenge:
For this one, I embossed my garden green cardstock with the hexagon folder, and I die cut a template to sponge a background in Pear Pizazz and Wild Honey.  Stamped on a Penny Black stamp, and used various die cuts - job done! I do like the green and honey tones on this one.
As I have used snippets of card stock for the embellishments, I shall pop over to the playground with this one.  Hope the guard dog doesn't get hold of it and rip it up! :-) Thanks for looking. See you soon.

Butterflies and Hexagons challenge 25

Hi there.  After missing the last butterfly challenge I thought I would be early this time around.  So Mrs. A has chosen hexagons together with the butterflies.  I thought I would try a new technique this time (new to me anyway).
I used my emboss folder to make this watercolour effect background.  I inked up the emboss folder on the side where the name appears with TH distress inks broken china and bundled sage.  Spritzed the folder with water and laid the watercolour paper on top and pressed the ink into the paper.  Left it to dry naturally.  The stamps are from SU and Clearly Besotted.  Added a few pearls and some glitter glue.  I am quite pleased with the background and will use this technique again.  Thanks for looking.

Butterfly Challenge 24 - Butterflies and ribbon

How long can it take to make a card?!!  This little darling (A6) took 2 hours and several attempts! But, I would not give in - and it took a massive clear up of the craft room afterwards. ;-0
This is for Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge, and I am just in time I think.  The papers are new from Pink Petticoat called Floralie, which is still on offer at an introductory price at the moment.  My photography does not do them justice though, as the green on the papers should be a delicate limhttp://www.pinkpetticoat.co.uk/index.phpe green.  Must stop rambling now and get linked up.  See you soon. (p.s. Hubby is at home and feeling much better.  Thank you to those who have asked about him, much appreciated.)
(Edit - Darn it, missed the link!  Sorry Mrs. A.)
Best wishes to you all

Beauties

Hello everyone, I really enjoyed paper piecing this card today.  This is a digi stamp from A Day for Daisies, their 'Beauties' collection - and she really is a Diva don't you think?!
Followed the Spectrum Noir tutorial from the SN website to colour the hair and skin, which helped tremendously.  The papers are from Pink Petticoat, ice-cream doodles, as is the sentiment.  The flowers are from the SU Petite Petals punch (much used), and used TH distress ink 'broken china' to go around the edges.  As I have used a snippet of black card for matting, and recycled the ribbon from a gift package, I shall be entering this card into the Snippet Playground.  I wonder what all the playground pals are up to? *shudder to think, lol*.

Happy Crafting.

A finished card - at last

Hello everyone, I have been making this card over a period of 3 days, just snatching bits of time.  Where does all the lost time go? - some magical Peter Pan place I suppose! *sigh*.  I promised a touch of watercolour, and here is my novice attempt.

This is little Bebunni, and I watercoloured with pencils, and layered up with nesties and vellum.  As I have used scraps of pink card, I shall be entering this into the Snippets Playground.  If I don't catch up with you this weekend (still hospital visiting, but hubby on the road to recovery), have a good one.

Hello

Hi folks, no card to show tonight.  Not much crafting done whilst dear Hubby is in hospital.  He had his Op to repair a heart valve on Thursday.  He is doing really well, although still in critical care until Saturday, but hopefully will be back on a post-op ward then.  Normal crafting will be resumed as soon as possible.  I have quite a few  birthdays coming up.  I have been having a go at watercolouring, so hopefully will be able to show you my results.

Take care out there, and happy crafting.
Lynn x

EDIT:  I have read through my post this morning, and, how rude of me, I forgot to say my 'thank yous'.  I would like to sincerely thank all of you great people who have wished us kind thoughts to help us get through this difficult period.  It is very much appreciated.

And Finally ....

Hello there, it has been a strange week for me, and not many posts.  I started to make my card for Mojo Monday and LIM challenges and another for Sunday Snippets on Wednesday.  Unfortunately I had to deal with the very sudden death of my little dog Pippa.  Needless to say I cried buckets of tears.
Later this week I heard that my hubby, who is waiting to have a heart valve repair, could go for his pre-op and that the operation is scheduled for next week - so preparations needed there.

However, things have settled down, and we have had a quiet weekend.  If you are still with me, here is my card.
The layout if from the Mojo Monday sketch, and the inchie squares, were for the LIM challenge 'little ones.  I shall enter this card into the Snippets playground for this week, as I have used snippets of ribbon,  and cream card for the inchies.

Have a good week everyone.  Take care.  Lynn x

Valentine + butterflies 21, and Snippets Playground 162

Hi there, I shall try and post this card before the internet goes down yet again! Over at Mrs. A's she would like to see butterflies, and any connection to valentines.  So here is my card:

The valentines connection is the 'Heart'felt sentiment.  All the stamps are the freebies from Clearly Besotted featured in the Simply Cards and Papercraft mag this month.  I cheated and pre-ordered the dies for the fuschia bud and leaves so that I would not have to fussy-cut. (Shame on me!)  I hope Mrs. A lets me get away with just the sentiment on this one for the challenge.

As I have used snippets for the diecuts, I shall be playing in the Snippets Playground again this week.  Some beautiful cards over on that blog, from Di and the challenge participants.
See you soon.

Sweet 16 - FMS 171

This is a card which I need for the weekend, and I thought the FMS sketch this week would do the job.
Two happy accidents, I think, on this card :-)  I used my NBUS Sheena Douglas emboss folder to emboss the pink card.  It needed two passes, and as I was putting the card back in the folder, I dropped the folder and the card!  When I embossed - yep, you guessed it - I got it the wrong way round, so the top of the card is deboss, and the bottom emboss.  But, you know what, I think I like it.  And the second happy accident?
I stamped the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss onto a piece of card - then lost it!  Do you think I could find it - how does that happen?!  So I stamped again with a lighter purple ink, and I think it works better as it does not detract from the image.  I, found the first sentiment stuck to the bottom of the sewing machine when I went to put it away!

Anyway, if you are still with me after all that rambling, here is the card and sketch:
Thanks for looking.

Pinterest CASE day and Snippets Playground 161

I had been pondering a punchy title for my post, but I can only ever come up with boring ones - straight to the point! (lol).

My card today was inspired by my pinterest board pin
and Becky's link can be found HERE.  So thank you Becky for the inspiration, and here is my card:
This is a tall, skinny card, and I decided to add a Really Red mat.  The butterflies were dry embossed, inks used are Real Red, Tangelo Twist, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise and Gumball Green.  The spatter stamp was from the SU Grunge set.

As I have used snippets of card for the butterflies, this card is winging its way to Di's Snippets Playground.
(Thanks for showcasing my card Di, much appreciated).
Thank you for visiting.

Less is More - Week 208 - Sketch

Hello there, here is the sketch for LIM

and here is my card:
I received a freebie stamp set from Simply Cards and Papercraft on Saturday - by Clearly Besotted - and I just had to play with the rose and stem stamps straight away.  The heart and sentiment stamp are from Stampin' Up called Perfect Pennants.  The other freebie stamps are equally gorgeous, and I may have to use this fabulous sketch again.

I used Spectrum Noir pens to colour in: PP2, PP4, BP1, BP£, CG4, DG1, and the blender for highlights.  I am not that great with blending just yet, and had to have a few goes on scrap card before I got the colour tones I wanted.  Thanks for looking.  See you soon.

Less is More, and Fusion challenges

Hello there, hope you are all nice and warm in your craft pods because it is freezing out there tonight.
I am entering my card into two challenges today - Less is More (Week 207: Theme) which is about FRIENDSHIP, and Fusion Challenge -TWO HEARTS (and yes, i know, I only have one heart on my card ;-)  ).

Here is the Fusion inspiration:

The background colour inspired me to use SU Blue Lagoon for my circles, and I brayered the wood stamp in Soft Suede.  I have used the SU Petite Petals and punch, and the sentiment and heart is from a Whimsey stamp set.  Other colours are Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey.  See you soon, take care.

EDIT:  I shall also be entering this card into the CASology challenge - Week 130 Friend.

Snippets playground #160 and pinterest share

I have got quite a few pins on my pinterest board now - and I am thinking, 'what do I do with all of them?'
So I have decided that each week ( no particular day - because I am quite  a random-type person you know)  I would take a browse through and CASE a card.  So here is my first one
Here is my card which has been CASEd from this  beauty:
So my thanks goes to Stephanie, and you can find the link to her blog HERE.

As I have used up scraps of white card to stamp and punch out my flowers, and for the mat and sentiment, I shall be joining all the pals over at Di's Snippets Playground.  There have been some wonderful showcases this week.
Bye for now,
Lynn x

Getting organised!

Well, I haven't got a card to share with you today, but I thought I would show you the boxes I have made to store my dies and emboss folders, ready to put on my shelf once hubby has decided to make a start on the DIY.

Now these little darlings were made using the fabulous instructions and videos courtesy of Sam, over on her blog Pootles.  Just scroll down the archives.  Thanks very much Sam :-)
It is such a good way of using up those scraps of designer papers, ribbons and embellishments, and so I shall be skipping over to the playground again this week.  Catch up with you all soon.
