CD Sunday - 'Thankyou'

Hello there.  The CD Sunday challenge is very appropriate this time around, as I do have some thank you cards to make.  Carol has chosen this theme.  I was so pleased to have my 'seasons' card picked as a top 3, so thank you to the team for my prize which I received today - it won't be long before I shall use it for a project!

This card was used using Serif CraftArtist Professional 2.  I chose a 5x5 fold card template, and used the embellishments from 'Eccentric Carousel', a free digikit.  The text was done with the text tool using 'Harlow Solid Italic' font, and I even managed to use the shadow tool.  I am slowly finding my way around the programme.  A bit photo heavy post, but I thought I would show the finished project in its entirety. HAPPY CRAFTING!

Birthday flowers and a card for the Snippets playground 217

Hi there.  Ooh, I had a lovely surprise on Saturday.  My children had organised a surprise meal out with the family for my BIG 60th birthday, which is tomorrow. We had a wonderful time - and I also received some gorgeous flowers.

I'm the one in the specs on the left, and the two young handsome men are my sons.
Now, on to the card.  Here are my snippets

and this is the card I made with them.  The papers and sentiment are Stampin' Up. This card is on its way to Di's Snippets Playground.

And this little card just sums up the way I felt on Saturday!  Happy crafting. x

Hand stamped sentiments challenge

I came across Hand Stamped Sentiments blog, and decided to have a play as the current challenge is a colour challenge, and I just so happen to have those colours.

So, here is my card.  I decided to use my hearth and home framelits, and Love Blossoms DSP from Stampin' Up.

The rose red is supposed to be in the flowers, but I watered down the marker a little, so I hope this still counts for the challenge.

CD Sunday challenge

Hello there.  A gorgeous, sunny day here - I hope that wherever you are, you will be just as lucky.
My card is for the CD Sunday challenge, which this time around is to use a button or buttons on your project.

I have used the CD from the Crafter's Companion Inspiration 9 magazine from the Country Life collection.  This was a card companion, and I cut the elements out and decoupaged to make the flower, and then die cut around one element and made it into a button.  Thanks for looking.

triple layer stamping

Hi there, I thought I would post my attempt at triple layer stamping which I have posted on the Friends Gatherink Creative Challenge page.
As I have used some recycled tissue paper, which I saved from some packaging for the butterflies, I shall visit the snippets playground to see how Sarn and Parsnip are getting on while Di is taking a break.

Snippets playground wk 215

Just popping in with a card which was inspired by one of my pins.  I have used the Petal parade stamp set from Stampin' Up, which I have not really used.  So many small elements to this stamp set, so while it is on my desk I think I shall play some more.
The edge die was cut from a scrap of whisper white card, as were the flower and leaves, so this card is being entered into the Snippets playground. Thanks for looking.

waterfall card

Happy Sunday.  I have a waterfall card to share with you today.  I have never been really successful with this type of card, but Rina from Friends GatherInk Creative shared a video on her blog, and I thought I would have another go. And here it is:
I changed the dimensions slightly.  I could not get a good photo with all the layers open - and I didn't think to take photos before I put it all together.  Hiding are a tiger, lion and a cute fox. Thanks for looking.

Rina's reflection technique and Snippets Playground

Hello  everyone, such blustery weather we are having, which put me in mind of the stamp I have used on my card.  It is a SU stamp and lended itself well to the reflection technique which Rina has made a video of.
You can just about see the reflection of the boat - I must admit I had a bit of trouble getting a reflection as I was missing quite a bit of detail.  But I think this just about works.  Quite a lot of 'huffing' involved with this technique!  Rina has kindly decided to carry on with her technique challenge, so if you fancy joining please visit her facebook page.  As I have used bits of my white cardstock to stamp and die cut this card will be visiting the Di's Snippets Playground.
