Happy New Year in 2013

Hi there everyone.  I hope you all had a lovely Christmas, and are getting ready for the start of 2013.
Not much work on the crafting front as I have not blogged for more than a month!  As soon as the christmas tree has been taken down from my crafting desk I can get back to business.

I have been having a peek at some of the blogs out there, and I came across Lizy's new Stampin' Up blog.  Good luck in your new venture Lizy (the owner of Lizy's house of cards http://lizyshouseofcards.blogspot.co.uk/. ) You can find here blog here http://creatinwithstampinup.blogspot.co.uk/.  Please take a look and consider becoming a follower - she has candy up for grabs (£15 of free Stampin' Up goodies) - you can browse the catalogue on her blog.

Happy New Year everyone, enjoy your celebrations.

birthday wishes and Snippets Challenge

Here I am,  showing two cards I have made for a 21st birthday.  Tatty Teddy makes an appearance, using Pink Petticoat Papers in delicious Peppermint Cream.  The other is a gift card, the video tutorial I found here at Dawn's Stamping Studio (this card is called a file in the middle card), and the file will hold a bookmark size gift tag (or even money!).  The stamps are a set which were free with Quick Cards magazine.  As I have used some purple and cream scraps for these cards, I am nipping over to Di's Pixie's Crafty Snippets challenge, week 46. The card design is a sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 171.  Thanks for looking :-). I will enter this card into Sweet Sunday Sketch, as the link is still open *smile*.

Pixie's crafty snippets, no. 45

This card uses up some of my white offcuts, and lilac card.  Stamps are Stampin' Up, a hostess set I bought off e-bay.  The sketch is a previous CASE (this sketch). As the post title suggests, this is another card for Di's challenge. Thanks for looking x

Crafty Snippets Challenge - week 44

Well for a change this is not a christmas card - lots of birthdays for me in November.  This one qualifies for the Snippets challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop as I have used all the bits left over from my textured card stock, and the various bits of cream card I have lying around.  The stamp is from Stampin' Up 'Need for Speed'.  Off to play in the playground now - hope Di has put central heating in that tree house.
(photo is a bit blurry, sorry - this is my third time of trying and I give up now!) :-) x

I have used Jen's sketch at Sketch Saturday to create two cards for a family birthday coming up soon.  The images are from Funky Kits, Sugar Nellie range.  Papers are Pink Petticoat, and images have been coloured using Promarkers.
Thanks for looking - have a good day. x

Freshly made sketch challenge 57

Just about made this post for FMS. My card uses Pink Petticoat herringbone paper and a cuttlebug embossing folder, and SU! butterflies sizzlits embossing plate, with SU! salutations stamp. This is a lovely sketch, and the card came together really quickly.  Will use this again.  Thanks for looking. x
This is my card, and a little sneek peek inside.

Pixies Crafty Snippets challenge no. 41

This little thank you card is made up of my snippets, apart from the design backing paper which is Raspberry Road Christmas Collection.  Stamps are Stampin Up young vermillion and fresh vintage, and the salutation is Penny Black.  This card is of course going into Di's Snippets challenge, and then I get to play in the playground.  The new tree house is looking very tempting :-).  Please join in if you can.

Pixies Crafty Workshop snippet challenge 40

Hello there playground chums, again this week I made two christmas cards, and this is the third card made from the snippets of the last two.  I have got 9 cards in my stash now - such a long way to go.
If you are new to the snippets challenge, pop over to Di's blog and you are more than welcome in the playground.
The card uses Papermania backing papers, various nestie dies and Stampin' Up Season of  Joy stamp set (which is now retired, but I bought it in the sale!).  A bit of Glamour dust, and some machine stitching, and job done.  Have a good week everyone. x

Simply Stampin' Challenge - Faux or sew

I have used the soon to be retired stamp from Season of Joy stampset, coloured with poppy parade, peach parfait and pear pizzazz markers.  I machine stitched in pillar box red. The theme at Simply Stampin' Challenge is to use sewing on your card or faux stitching, and as I have used a Stampin' Up stamp and markers I feel that this card qualifies.  As this card is the third one to be made from this design paper, it is definitely using up all the snippets and so this will be entered into Pixies Snippet challenge #39.
Thanks for looking. x

Rudolph Day - September

Well, I really need to get cracking making Christmas cards as I only have 2 made so far!!!! I am entering this pair of cards into Sarn's Rudolph Day challenge.  The backing papers are Papermania, and the stamps are Stampin' Up Season of Joy (soon to be retired).  I cannot get the green to look right in the photo, it is more of a lime colour.  Thanks for looking x

I used the 'Tis the Season free stamp from my Quick Cards magazine, and the latest Retro sketch here, coloured with promarkers,  and backing papers are Papermania.  Will use this sketch again and make a few more Christmas cards :-) Thanks Wendy.

I have used the Clean and Simple sketch this week to make a start on my Christmas cards.  Backing paper is Papermania Mistletoe Kisses, and stamped with a stamp from Stampin' Up Season of Joy stamps.  Finished off with Diamond Sparkles and a die-cut from the Papermania kit.  Thanks for looking. x

Baby Girl

I was asked to make a card for a baby girl's Christening - my first Christening card ever :-)
As usual in these cases, I never have the right image, so I hopped onto Mo's Digital Pencil and chose this image.  Papers are from Pink Petticoat http://www.pinkpetticoat.co.uk/index.php, and embellishments from local craft store.  Thanks for looking. (The baby girl in question had a brilliant day, and was all smiles). xx

Retro sketch 26

I have used the sketch by Danielle from Retro Sketches, and used papers from Pink Petticoat.  The circles are cut with nesties, and the bowling pins I had to make a template for.  Some wonderful designs made by the design team.  Take a look here. Thanks for looking. :-)

Sweet Summer

Sweet Summer - no, not the UK kind, but the Stampin Up! kind.  This card is for Di's playground snippets (challenge 35) and Stamping 411 (challenge 270).  I have used their sketch, and the stamps and papers are all SU.  More importantly, all the papers were snippets, and even the gems were recycled! x

Less Is More - Theme, Tearing

Hope this card is CAS enough.  The vertical strip is a 'Sue Wilson Special' which I was reminded of on Julia's blog here, to tear up and ink and emboss masking tape. Stamps are TH, and used faded jeans and spiced marmalade distress inks. Check out the Less Is More blog to see what all the Limettes have made of this challenge. x

Sunday Snippets challenge 34

Hi everyone, my card this week shows my snippet flowers and leaves - have at least used up some cream cardstock.  The card has been inked with antique plum, and brad and backing papers are from Stampin Up. All the superb snippet cards can be found here on Di's Pixies Crafty Workshop.  Have a good week.  x

Freshly Made Sketch 48

This sketch is designed by Tui, and this is my take on it.  I have used Portobello Road design papers, and washi tape.  The digi is from Digital Two for Tuesday, and the buttons are from a Marianne die. Thanks for looking. Do call over to the FMS blog for some great inspiration. x

Portobello Road

Two cards which uses up some of my Portobello Road papers, and stamps.  The card on the left was made by my son who was inspired by a card layout in QCME Issue 103, and I made the card on the right, inspired by the card layout of Ruth Southorn in Issue104.  All I have to do now is find a challenge I can enter them into :-) xx

Snippets challenge 33

Yay, at last I have made it to the Snippets challenge over at Di's.  Well, this card was made after seeing the paper folding techniques in this month's Quick Cards mag.  I will also have a go at the wobble cards which Jules has made for her feature in card school, as soon as I find out where all the playground pals have hidden the compasses! (*smile*).  Apart from the card base, all the rest are snippets, and the brad I must have had for about 12 months.  The design papers are double-sided SU!, which I have had for a while now, but nearly finished them off. Happy crafting everyone. xx

Gardner's shelf

Hi everyone, woops, its been a long time since I last posted.  Work has just got in the way I'm afraid.
I made this card using the new colours from Pink Petticoat which Jules kindly told us about on her blog.  This colour is the new Cafe Creme, and I have used a digi stamp from Just Inklined which I coloured with promarkers.  The plant pots are a Sizzix die.
Have fun in the sun everyone! xx

Snippets Challenge

I made this card  with the sketch #38 from Freshly Made Sketches, which I would have posted there but the linky has now closed.  I CASed this card from one of the fab designers Tui Nathan, as I just loved the colours and embellishments she had used.  Thank you so much Tui for the inspiration.  As I have made this card with snippets from my draw I an entering this card into Pixie's Crafty Workshop Snippets challenge. (I didn't play in the playground last week as it was far too wet!)  (I thought I would sneek in without an absence note while Di is away :-).xx

Clean and Simple #192

Here is this week's sketch over at Clean and Simple and this is what I made.  The image is from Pink Petticoat as part of the Big Fella bundle, and the sentiment (excluding the number which I stamped) is from Desert Diva http://desertdiva-hannelie.blogspot.co.uk/ (thank you Hannelie).  I used a Fiskars texture plate for the dry embossing. Thanks for looking. x  Edit: I'm having trouble with the new blog layout, and I hope I have linked to this post and not to the whole blog.

Quick cards - Father's Day Challenge

I have recently subscribed to Quick Cards made easy, and decided to do my first challenge with them.  I have used the free download papers and embellishments from Issue 62 'Just for Dad'.  Making easel cards are fairly new to me, and this is my creation from all the 'arty' angles. The photos are the best I can do (I blame the camera and the light, hehe). Thanks for looking x

Recent makes

Not a very original title I know, but I am in the process of making a few cards to package as a gift to a friend.  These are two designs I came up with.  The postage stamps are from the Fresh Vintage stamp set by SU!, and the other are two stamps I bought in the Hobbycraft sale some time ago, but I have no idea of the name of the manufacturer.  The blue papers are from Nitwits collection.

This card shows Pink Petticoat papers (Big Fella) *half price sale now on*, a freebie stamp from Quick Cards magazine, and the sentiment is from Desert Diva blog. Have a good weekend everyone. x

Skyscraper heels

This card is using a Bugaboo digi stamp, and the hearts paper from Pink Petticoat with the black flock paper from Stampin Up! Mocha Morning Speciality Papers.  The sentiment is a freebie from http://desertdiva-hannelie.blogspot.co.uk/  Thanks Hannelie.  Gone are the days when I could wear stiletto heels.
Happy crafting! :-)

Mojo Monday - 239

Over at Mojo Monday it is time for a square or round sketch.  I chose square as it is easier for me as I have pre-cut and scored square cardstock.  I have used the new Papermania Portobello Road design papers, and the crown was stamped from their Urban collection, and the cute bow was ready-tied from the same collection.  Thanks for looking. x

Card patterns sketch 161

A lovely square card sketch which I used for my brother's birthday card.  Here it is.  Pink Petticoat patterned paper, and the large stamp is one I have had a long time and do not remember the make, sorry.  Sentiment computer generated.  I have used a peel off for the trim - something I have not used in ages! Happy crafting. x
