Sketch Saturday

This week is truly flying by!  My card today uses Sketch Saturday sketch 298 by Alex -
The image is Lola Rose from Pink Petticoat - I think she may only be available for a short time now - and the papers and chipboard shapes are from a pad which was free in QCME mag some time ago (Parisian dreams by Jenny Ellory). Hope you are all having a good week. Lynn x

Rudolph Day 2

Rudolph day over at Sarn's blog - and there is a lovely prize up for grabs too.
Two very different  cards - the first one uses a digi stamp from the Spectrum Noir CD, and the other uses elements from Nitwits 'Homespun' bundle.  That's 4 cards ready for Christmas now - woohoo!  I look forward to seeing all of the other entries.  Don't forget to join in, you only have until 28th Feb. Butterfly challenge

Here is another post for Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge.

Penny Black 'Flying Stars', SU coastal cabanna cardstock, SU butterfly die, and the patterned papers are from a Lilly Bimbles paper pad which was free with Quick Cards Made Easy mag some time ago. Thanks for looking. Lynn x

secret garden

Well, considering I have had some time off  from work, I have had very little time to blog.    Today's make uses SU Secret garden stamps.
The papers are from Crafter's Companion SWALK CD, and the mats are coredinations cardstock.  Colours are SU gunball green, summer starfruit and concord crush.  Short and sweet post, :-) Lynn x

Birthday balloons

I'm posting this on a Monday morning, so that means it must be a holiday for me - whoo-hoo!  I have made this card using the backing papers from the Crafter's Companion Swalk CD rom and a Bebunni topper, which I cut down as it was way too big.

The pinwheel is an SU die, and the tags are a die'sire die from CC.  I started with this card using inspiration from my Pinterest board, and this was a Sweet Sunday sketch.  Thanks for looking. Lynn x

Butterfly challenge and Snippets

Hello there, my card today will be entered into the new Butterfly Challenge that Mrs. A has started, so please join in if you can. She wants to see at least one flower and one butterfly on your cards - settling us in nice and gently.
This card uses up snippets of BeBunni design papers, and coredinations cardstock.  The white panel was run through a Desire 'happy birthday' embossing folder, and an SU butterfly diecut.  I will enter the Snippets Playground with this one too. Thanks for stopping by. Lynn x

Edit:  Thought I would try the design with an added pinwheel - what do you think?
photo is better too, in the daylight.  Thanks for looking, and for the lovely comments.

Cheesecake Party (Sketch n Stash challenge 132)

Happy Monday!  Today my card uses the Sketch n Stash current sketch, and a pre-loved Penny Black stamp.
Here's the sketch, which I rotated.
Coloured in with Spectrum Noir pens, and the ribbon I purchased today from Lidl.  A lovely quality satin ribbon, and 5m for 99p - bargain.  Might show you the yellow spotty ribbon tomorrow. Lynn x

Lola Rose - Big Birthday (FMS 122 and Snippets 111)

Just finished watching 'Call the Midwife' - I cried!  I'll cry with anyone, totally hopeless, lol.
On to today's card.

I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches:
The image is Lola Rose, (Pink Petticoat - but I'm not sure that it is still available).  Papers are Lily Bimble, freebie from Quick Cards Made Easy mag some time ago, and the snippets are the pink bazzil cardstock, and the tags made with the SU jewellery tag.  Coloured in with Spectrum Noir pens. The sentiments were from a blog, some time ago, and I cannot give credit as I did not put the name of the blog on the file, sorry.
Well, off to join the challenges now - I think the pals in the Snippets Playground will need a sugar rush with all the building for the ark!  The puddles must be so deep that the water has gone over the top of Parsnip's wellies! Lynn x

flying stars

What a dreary, cold Thursday - but never mind, the weekend is just around the corner, and with a bit of luck it could be dry.  I hope everyone has stayed safe.
My card today uses a pre-loved Penny Black stamp called flying stars.
I added a touch of colour to pull in the surrounding backing papers, nd the tag die is a Clearly Besotted one.
Thanks for looking, and see you again soon. Lynn x

Valentine - Sketch 295 (by Cathy)

I came across the image of the dogs in the Crafter's Companion Winter magazine, and then this happened:

I had not planned to turn it into a valentine card, but it just evolved when I looked at the Sketch Saturday sketch.  The images are from the free CD (Frou Frou papers).  The backing papers  are Wild Rose Studio 'Wedding Belles'.  I typed in the 'I wuff you' in Publisher, and copied the image into there to position the sentiment.  The embellishments and banners are also from the CD.  The valentines sentiments are from Clearly Besotted.  Thanks for looking. Seize the sketch 12

I am just in time to enter my card into the current Seize the Sketch challenge.
I have used papers and diecuts from a Kaisercraft Sweet Pea collection which I had free with Quick Cards Magazine.  I inked up the paper a little with distress ink (barn door) and edged the heart in the same colour. Greeting is from Stampin Up.  No matter how hard I tried, I could not get rid of the 'spotlight', sorry. Thanks for looking. Lynn x

Smile please

Hi there, hope everyone is staying safe and dry.  This card is a make from another of  Crafter's Companion sale kits.  Say hello to the Makey Bakey Mice.  I think these critters are delightful.  It really is a super kit.
I used a previous sketch from Sketch Saturday, but was too late to enter.  I got my sewing machine out for this one.  Haven't done that in ages.  See you soon. Lynn x

Rudolph Day - January 2014

I decided this year that I would get ahead with some Christmas cards.  I only did my lovely Mom one last christmas, and no matter how hard I tried I either did not get much time to christmas craft, or my mojo went missing at crucial times - don't you find that happens?!  So here I am joining in for the first time with Sarn's Rudolph day over on her blog here.
The challenge is that you should make 2 cards, but only one post (she explains it much better on her blog).
As my contribution uses all snippets, apart from the card base, I shall be joining in at the Snippets Playground.  Embossing folder and sentiment are Crafter's Companion.  I shall be back soon with another make. Lynn x

What's a collection of bunnies called?!

Hi there, at last the weekend is in sight - such a busy week.  Here are a few more BeBunni cards I have made.  I think I might give them a rest now for a while and try something a little different.

I have tried the Crafter's Companion Centura Pearl card, and I have to say that it behaved very nicely and I do like it. You can see a little bit of the hint of silver in the bottom photo.  My balloons which are floating away were done by the Clearly Besotted die from the Birthday Wishes set.  Hope you have a good weekend. Bunny card

Hi there - I am still making my way through the BeBunni paper kit from Crafter's Companion.  It certainly making me think about creating my own designs rather than using sketches as a jump start.  At least I am learning!
I am not too sure about the banners or stitching - although the flash makes it look as though there is a light underneath the banners, lol.  That would be quite a special card, eh?!
Thanks for looking. Lynn x

Congrats Grad

Hello there, I have a Graduation card today, which I need for my son's girlfriend who graduates next month.
I have used the graduation colours, freestyle computer generated font, and image from google.  Matting is coredinations cardstock, and brads are Stampin Up.  I used the recent sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, but have missed the chance to join the challenge. Never mind, enjoyed using the sketch :-)

Another pinterest inspiration!

Hi everyone, welcome to a wet Saturday! (well, it is here, anyway, lol).  My card today comes from another card I pinned onto my Pinterest board, and here is my take on it.

It is a SU Vanilla base, and cordinations cardstock for layers, and DSP is Modern Medley, and stamps Style Beautiful by Stampin' Up.  (Sorry about the shadows, have put a new bulb in light that I use with photo lightbox, but it does not seem as good - throws a cream shadow.  Will try harder, lol.) Thanks for looking, and have a good weekend. Lynn x

Trying to get the mojo started

The idea for the above card came from Pinterest, which I had pinned to my board.  I used papers from Raspberry Road Designs (Love Lives Here) which were free in Quick Cards Made Easy magazine some time ago.

This card is a joy fold card which was in the QCME magazine in the card school (May 2013).  This used some papers from the Crafter's Companion BeBunni everyday range which I purchased in the sale to give it a try.  Good quality kit, but I think it is a bit too 'cutsie'  for me - but good value for selling for charity.

Mojo is still not quite up and running.  It took me ages to do these two cards! :-)
Happy crafting - hope you are doing better than I am, lol. Lynn x

A bit of DIY

Hi there,  hope you are having a good weekend.  Here is a piccie of a photo light box that my hubby made me.  I used it when I took the picture on my previous post - it works really well I think.

I used Pinterest as a source of information - isn't technology wonderful! - This uses three pieces of white foam board which we had stored away from when my son was doing his DT project.  It only cost me pennies for the baking parchment and a roll of invisible tape.  The back and sides are taped together so just folds away, and as you can see they just rest on the base, and the offcuts make up the lid.  I just use my desk lamp to shine through the baking parchment. Hope you like. Lynn x

2014

Happy New Year everyone, and I hope that whatever is in store for you this year, there will be much happiness and good health and fortune.  I have spent a lovely day with family, and this pic is of a little gift I have given  to my two (grown up) boys and their girlfriends.
It's a wibble wobble Santa, filled with sweets - but most importantly he is also a money box.  Just the job to get them all into the 'saving for a rainy day' habit.  A good new year's resolution, eh?, lol.  Have a happy day.
