CD Sunday Challenge - 'Seasons'

Hi everyone,  hope you are enjoying your days.  My card for the CD Sunday Challenge was made up from the Docrafts Tatty Teddy CD. Now, I hope the ladies will forgive me for thinking outside the box - although the theme is 'seasons' I was thinking of making a masculine theme card, and the cricketer made me think of the term CRICKET SEASON. But a flowery card is in the making!

I have not used the CD much, although some gorgeous toppers, I always seem to think they come out a little too cute for adults, and I don't have many children to make cards for!  I do blog hop frequently and came across a lovely blog called 'Made by Sandra', and I like how she takes elements and layers them up.  I feel it makes the card look more 'grown up', and so I thought I would give this a go.  So, finally, if you are still with me, here is my card :-)
The papers were chosen and cropped, and the tag was made using the digi punches, and the topper was laid on the tag, which saved a lot of fussy cutting.  All the elements were laid out onto an A4 sheet to print out, so quite economical.  The sentiment was also from the CD - and just a few diecuts and background stamping to complete the card.

Bye for now - Lynn x

Friendsgatheringink challenge and Snippets playground

Another post on the same day! Amazing!  The challenge which Rina set us was to ink up a sky and clouds.  You can find a video on her blog HERE.  I am also entering this card into the Snippets playground. (Challenge 212)  I have paperpieced the balloon with some snippets, and also snippets of black card for the houses and trees at the bottom of the topper.  This balloon is a die which I won on the Snippets challenge, and
this is its first cut.  I like it a lot!

Butterfly Challenge and CD Sunday

Good Morning.  I have been busy trying to use my Serif Craftartist Professional programme, and I thought I would include Mrs. A's butterfly challenge for Inks and a butterfly.  This is the result -
The CD Sunday challenge was "wildflowers", and so I used a free kit called 'Mother's Day'.  I still like  to build my cards up and so I used a daisy image which I used as a stamp onto the yellow paper and printed that out, and I printed out the floral paper which goes with it.  So that is the CD part.  I then stamped a butterfly in versamark ink and embossed in black.  I then used my marker pens to colour in the image.  Thanks for looking.  I am off to link up now.  Enjoy your day. Thumping technique and a visit to the Playground

Hello there.  I have recently taken up the challenge by Rina to join her 'learn new techniques for 2016' on her facebook page.  Her lovely blog is HERE.  The first technique was the "thumping technique" and you can find a short video on her blog.

I used a scrap piece of whisper white cardstock, and a lovely Sheena Douglas tree stamp.  I stamped with soft suede to start with and then I thumped three different shades of green marker on the stamp - a bit of a huff, and this is the result.

Oops sorry for the orientation - feel free to crick your neck to take a closer look, lol. !!!
As I have used pieces of offcuts for the stamping and matting, oh, and a small piece of shrink plastic for the leaves - I shall enter this into Di's Snippets challenge.  Have a good rest of the week. Lynn x

FMS 219

Hi there, hope you are all well.  It certainly has been a mad couple of weeks.  I am finishing off some wedding invitations, and the time certainly goes by quickly. I have used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches this week to make a card for my friend as it is a big birthday next week. (My turn for the same big birthday next month! Eek!

It all looks a little bit crooked, but it is the angled shot - honest.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy 2016 everyone.  I hope that you all have a good year.  I saw a lovely quote, which I have pinned onto my vision board, and I would like to share it with you:

I hope that this quote, or parts of it, connect with your feelings.  Have a good day.

Freshly Made Sketches 210

I thought I would play along with FMS, as I really like the sketch.  Here is my card:
and this is the sketch.
As you can see I have switched it around a little.  Unfortunately I have missed the link up, but I enjoyed the challenge. Thanks for looking.

Snippets Playground week 201

Hello there.  What a beautiful Sunday it has been.  Here is my make for the Playground.  I did
a 'his n her' design - just two of many cards for the  birthdays I have through November and December.  Here they are -

The first card is on a white base with crisp cantaloupe and coastal cabana colours, and the second is on a silver grey base with rich razelberry and pacific point colours.  Thanks for looking.  Lynn x

A little bit purple

Hi everyone, I know it is a 'long time no see', but I have had issues trying to use my very worn out camera to post pics.  This is one that I have scanned in on a new printer.  Here goes :-)

Not bad - I could have done with editing a little more and taken some of the 'whiteness' out.  The card base is actually wisteria wonder, and a 6x6 inch card.  So it is what it is, and shows no background -
but at least it is blogged!  As this card has used up some scraps of card to make the flowers and leaves, I shall be joining in the Snippets Playground.  I haven't been there for a while.  I do hope Di is on the move, and that her back problems are more manageable.

I am looking out of my window at the gorgeous colours of autumn - and it is so mild outside!  Certainly a day to make you smile.  Enjoy your day.

Snippets Playground week 194

Hi there, I cannot believe that we are half-way through September already - Mr. Time needs to put some brakes on!
Here is my card for Di's Snippets Challenge.  I love her 'crazy bird' card - I am saving really hard to get these Tim Holtz stamps.
There are lots of snippets here.  The embossed and inked paper was from that huge pile of differing whites.  The stamped image was placed on a scrap of paper which had mopped up my spritzed inks from the blending mat, and the sentiment was from a piece of scrap I discarded earlier, and I rescued from the bin.

I am ready to post into the playground now.  I do hope that Di is feeling a little better.

Snippets playground 191

Hello everyone, I do hope you are enjoying what is left of your weekend.  They certainly whizz past.
Here is my card for Di's Snippet Playground challenge.
The image is from the Makey Bakey Mice CD from Crafter's Companion.  So cute!  Lots of white snippets used here, and a little bit of dry embossing and sanding for the border. Off now to link up, and finish watching Murdoch Mysteries. I can never work out 'whodunnit', lol.  See you soon.

Fast track mail

Hi all, I have a card to show, for no challenge, but just to put in my stash.  It uses the adorable Penny Black hedgies.  This must now be the most used stamp in my collection.
I used an old sketch from Deconstructed Sketches.  Thanks for looking.

Floral thanks to Di - Snippets Playground 189

Hello there, I have a card to share for the Snippets Playground.

This uses a new die from diecut essentials magazine, some scraps of coastal cabana card, and white card.  The emboss folder is part of the Tim Holtz brick wall and the sentiment is SU.  The ribbon is also a scrap from a package, which matched perfectly with the flowers.  This card is going over to Di's Snippets playground, and it is a thank you to Di for posting off my prize so quickly.  It is a beautiful hot air balloon die from Joanne Sheen signature dies, and I shall be making a card with it later this week.  See you soon.

Butterfly challenge 36 - Washi tape

Hi there, here is my card for Mrs. A's butterfly challenge, and this time around it is to use washi tape on  your card, as well as the butterfly/butterflies.  I don't use a lot of washi tape,  but I did get some from SU when it was on weekly deal.  Here I have used the ' hello honey' colour, and the 'peek-a-boo' method I found on You Tube, which I pinned to my board, and you can find the link HERE.
The  banner is a stamp and die cut from Clearly Besotted.  Now, what I was really pleased about, is that this card turned out larger than my A6 envelope, so I had the chance to play with the new envelope calculator on Carole's blog, and the link is HERE.  It works!

Hope you enjoy the video, and get to play with the envelope creator.  See you soon. Lynn x

LIM - Snippets for Chrissie

Hi there, happy Friday.  Here is my card for Chrissie, the lovely lady over on the Less is More blog, who has celebrated a big birthday.  Happy belated birthday wishes Chrissie.  This is the LIM challenge to use snippets for Chrissie, and here is my card.
Hopefully, this is clean and simple enough.  I used bits of white card to stamp and layer for this card, and to make the little tags.  The stamp is SU, and I think appropriate for those special birthday celebrations.  Thanks for looking - I will go and link up now to LIM and Snippets Playground.

Snippets Playground

This is my card to be entered into Di's Snippets Playground this week.  I used all the snippets which were lying on my craft table, and I used my freebie spiral rose die which I have had for a few weeks now.

This week Di has teamed up with the ladies from Less is More, for a snippets challenge, but I think this card is too fussy for a LIM challenge, so I shall have to think about a new design for that little challenge.

I will be back soon.  Happy crafting.

Butterfly challenge # 35 - tallisman

Hello there, hope you are enjoying a brand new week. I did not think I would be able to take part in Mrs. A's challenge this week as I wasn't sure I had a tallisman (charm).  However, I delved deep into my old stash and found a handbag charm, and then I went from there.  Here is my card.

The handbag charm gave me the colours, and the idea to use the dress-up framelits dies from SU and also the butterfly die.  The banner stamps are from the Kimono range from Crafter's Companion.  I just had enough scrap ribbon to match the coastal cabana colour.  The backing paper and the paper for the butterfly are from Pink Petticoat Floraline design.  I quite enjoyed putting this little card together.  Have a good week.

Snippets playground 186

Hello everyone, I do hope you are enjoying the sunshine.  My card today comes from an inspirational sketch (no. 2) from Jules (Always with a heart).  She has put a few sketches on a tab on her blog for 'us crafters' who have those "foggy moments".  I do have quite a few of those, lol.  So thank you Jules for allowing me to use some of your inspiration.  As some of the papers and white card are snippets this card will be entered into Di's Snippets challenge.

The papers and stamp are from SU, and the sentiment is a Clearly Besotted stamp.  Please take a look at the sketch on Jules' blog HERE.

Butterflies and Gems (Butterfly challenge #34)

Hi there, I do hope everyone has enjoyed the sunshine.  I did not realise I had been so busy and not posted for a while.  Here is my contribution to Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge, which uses gems this time around.  Now it took a while for me to locate my gems - I finally found them in my scrap box, obviously carefully tidied away then, lol.

This uses stamp sets from SU, and the colours are pear pizazz and so saffron.  The patterned cardstock is a coredinations, which is a snippet from a 12x12 sheet, so this card will be going over to the snippet playground.  Thanks for looking.

Butterflies and flowers - challenge 33 butterfly challenge

Hello to you all.  At last, I have been able to photograph a card before it has found its way out of the door  Here is my card for Mrs. A's butterfly challenge.
I shall be needing a few 'thank you's' soon.  The kraft cardstock, butterfly, dies and emboss folders are all Crafter's Companion.  The sentiment is a freebie from a while ago, and the coloured card is SU Crisp Cantaloupe.  As this card uses offcuts of coloured and white card, I shall also be skipping over to the Snippets Playground.  Haven't played in there for a while.  Hope I catch the ice-cream van!
