Less is More - Colour Challenge - Wk 62

This week Chrissie and Mandi would like to see 3 shades of green.  I took inspiration from Mandi and used resist technique, and brayer for my card, using stamps from SU!, Delicate Doilies.  Shades of ink used are Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery (SU!) and TH distress ink Bundled Sage.

Not a good pic, my camera is rubbish (no, it's not me, lol).  I made a masterboard from coated white cardstock and cut selected parts of board into squares and matted onto a light grey background. Enjoy your Easter hols everyone. x

Postage stamps and LIM

I made this card for a friend's birthday in her favourite colour of pink. I used an old cuttlebug cut and emboss postage stamp, and the SU! happy birthday stamp fits a treat! I think this may be eligible to be entered into the Less Is More colour challenge, although it is obviously lacking in green. Hmm, I also think this might be a bit too bright - feel free to delete is not suitable Chrissie and Mandi :-)

Just playing

I have been clicking through blogland for inspiration (again!) *smile* - when I came across some beautiful cards and inspiration on this blog http://jules-alwayswithaheart.blogspot.co.uk/. Thank you Jules. I loved the layout and stitching on her 'snippets' card, and so I have created these 5x5 square cards. Thanks for looking. Have a lovely day. x

Young Vermillion

Well, another male birthday card done, have not put on sentiment yet as I am wondering where and how ?! This is a beautiful bird stamp, and has a lot of fine detail. This stamp, and the partial stamp and shadow stamp is Fresh Vintage, both SU!.

Delicate doilies

I have been playing with the SU! Delicate Doilies stamps, and this is what I have created.
The two postcard invitations are a 'first run' to check out design and colours, not perfect here but of the course the finished products were good. The blue card is generic, and I like the idea of colouring in the medallion. This set has seen a lot of stamping!

Style beautiful and friendly inspiration

After struggling to think what to do for another masculine card, I came across a lovely blog which gave me instant inspiration - Jen Mitchell, thank you so much!http://http://jen-icreate.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/ccmc195.html (I Create). She used the colour combo from Connie and Mary of poppy parade, so saffron and basic grey, all SU!http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com/create-with-connie-and-mary/ and the sketch from Sketchbook Saturday http://ipalamountain.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/sketchbook-saturday-challenge-52.html. My card features DSP and stamps from SU! called Style Beautiful. Thanks for looking. x

Clean and Simple layout 182

I have used this layout to make a panel to lay onto my A5 card base. Used mainly scraps which have been put through the polka dots texture plate, and added a few brads. You can find more inspiration here http://cleanandsimplestamping.blogspot.co.uk/. Thanks for looking. x

Stamping 411 - colour challenge

Over at Stamping 411,http://stamping411.blogspot.com/ the first Thursday of each month is a colour inspiration. Here is my card using Stampin' Up products, although I have substituted Rose Red for Melon Mambo as I do not have that colour. The stamps are from one of the new sale-a-bration sets, the main image being stamped as a water mark on the pink pirouette card base. Thanks for looking. x I used the sketch from a challenge blog, but unfortunately I cannot remember which one! x

Mojo Monday 226 - square

Mojo Monday is mixing up the challenge for square or round cards. I opted for a square card (my favourite). I used Papermania textured paper, and Inkadinkado scribble flower stamp and a sizzix die. I decided not to put a sentiment on. x

Freshly made sketch - 19

Another lovely sketch this week. With Valentines Day just around the corner I thought I would craft a little love. The die cut word is a cuttlebug die, and the little charm has hearts on it. Check out the blog here http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/ x

simply Stampin' Challenge & a thank you

First of all, I would like to thank everyone who has commented on my cards recently - so much appreciated. I am sad to say, though, that blogger is not playing nice, and when I try to open up comments I end up with a blank page. This means that I cannot visit blogs of those people who have been so kind to comment, so I do apologise.
Now, onto tonight's card which I have made for the Simply Stampin' challenge, which uses the sketch #43 http://simplystampinchallenge.blogspot.com/. SU products I have used on this card are Confetti card, subtles inkpads and Sweet Summer stamps. Please visit the blog, there are some lovely cards. x

One Layer Wednesday - challenge 53

Found this challenge blog for making one layer cards OLW and have been following it for a few weeks, and have just decided to take the plunge with my first card. This week it is for New Home, with at least two colours. I decided to break out my new Clarity Stamp and brayer. The background is distress inks broken china and bundled sage which I brayered through a mask onto the card, and then stamped houses in archival black and used watercolour pencils. The script is computer generated, and I used my nesties to draw the box - at least I know I get 90 degree corners then. :-) For those of you who visit here, please check out this OWL site. Have fun. x

Less Is More Week 12 - Recipe 'off centre'

Well, Lady LIM Chrissie and LIM Diva Mandi, have come up with the recipe of 'off centre' for cards this week - cards with little or no symmetry but perfect balance - Now there's a challenge!
I normally do 'off centre' but not deliberately. Anyway this week I chose a digi image from Digital Two for Tuesday, which was a cottage image, but I have cropped it down, and cropped out the watering can and made it slightly bigger for the focus of this card. I watercoloured with my dye-based Big and Juicy Spice and Sunset pads. Sentiment is computer generated. May try another card this week. I am waiting for a new stamp to play with :-)

Less is More - Challenge 10

Thanks to Mandi for telling me how to correct my photos!

Over at Less is More this week, the challenge is to use a sentiment as a focal point on a card. I came up with this - eventually. Not sure whether the rose red heart detracts from the sentiment, but I don't think the eyes dance around the card as the sentiment is in line with it. This is the third attempt and I'm sticking with it *smile*. The hearts are stamps from Crafters Companion 'Love' set 1, and the sentiment is a new design by Claritystamp. Some wonderful and creative cards by the LIMettes. Well done everyone! x

Flowers for April

This card is for several challenges. I had started to colour this image from Bugaboo (Friday Freebies - Sceneit) and saw the challenge for Daring Cardmakers which was daisy and sweetpeas for April - just the job. Over at Less is More the challenge is 'a touch of red' - ooh, ladybirds. At St. Luke's Charity Card Challenge - their first - and a worthwhile cause so please take a look - it is 'flowers'. An ideal digi stamp! This card will be packaged up and sent to the charity along with another card. Happy Crafting! x
