STB 15

It took me a while to think of a creation for a male card for Seize the Birthday this week, and this is what I have come up with following the sketch below, which I rotated, as I thought it gave a better look.

Papers used are SU Parkers Pattern Papers and the stamp is also SU, beautiful birthday.  Thanks for looking. x

Sketch Saturday 255

I flipped the sketch around for my card:
I used one of the new free stamps from Pink Petticoat that came with this month's Quick Cards magazine.  The backing papers are also Pink Petticoat (bluebell and apricot), and sentiment Stampin' Up.  Why not hop over to Sketch Saturday and see the lovely DT cards? :-)  As I have used snippets of card and ribbon, I shall call into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

STB #14

Seize the Birthday this week is looking for feminine cards, and this is the sketch:

This card uses sentiment from Clearly Besotted 'Its your birthday'; bottom panel run through embossing folder, and design paper is from Uniko Studio - background builders.  I decided to do a small A6 card, which is really not the size I normally use, but I am beginning to think that this is just the right size!  Thanks for looking, and please do call over to the STB challenge - some beautiful cards.

Retrosketch 58

This is my busy time for birthday cards, hence three posts in one day! Here is the sketch:
and my creation:
not a very clear photo but this was the third try!  The design paper is from Parkers Pattern collection by SU. The image and sentiment are from a set of stamps from Clearly Besotted.  Thanks for looking  x

Deconstructed Sketch 96

Love this Deconstructed Sketch :
Now I took a look at all the entries, and I adored the card made by Sheri (DT) member, and so I cased the sketch (No.3 entry) the link is here  (black and kraft - gorgeous).  This is my card -
The design papers are a mixture of Comfort Cafe and Parkers Papers from Stampin' Up.  The sentiments is from a set of stamps from Clearly Besotted - my new favourites!   I love the added mat behind the sentiment.  Thank you to Sheri for the inspiration.

Remake!

My mother liked one of the cards I made, but asked for it to be in brighter colours - the first card can be seen here.  This is what I came up with, and she seems quite happy with it :-)
Apart from the sentiments, all products used are SU.

Seize the birthday #12

Here is the sketch for Seize the Birthday (female cards):
and here is my card:
Papers are Pink Petticoat, sweet bohemia; punched flower a sizzix die, and the petite label stamps and punch from SU.  The brad I have had for ages just lying around in a drawer.  I am entering this card into Pixie's crafty workshop snippets playground as the tissue flower is the wrapping I received a gift in, and scraps of black card and ribbon. Have a lovely day. x

Less Is More - Lime and Black

It is a colour challenge this week at Less Is More  - lime and black.  Now I do not possess any lime ink or card, but I thought the Pink Petticoat crushed pistachio would be a close contender.  So this is what I came up with :
Sentiment and stamps are Stampin' Up, and a bit of machine stitching for texture.  Thanks for looking. x

Retro Sketches #57

Here is the Retro sketch for this week - some fab designs from DT and participants.
This is my take on it.
Base card is SU regals collection, brayered over using transfer of ink from brickwork embossing folder.  Panel embossed using same folder and snippets of Pink Petticoat papers.  Sequins and seedbeeds in copper, metallic thread and SU antique brad to finish off.  Font on tag is Stonehenge.

silhouettes and Snippets

Hi there, just look what dropped through my letterbox today :-)  A little prize from Di from Pixies Crafty Workshop - so kind.
This is what I made.  I drew inspiration from this month's Quick Cards mag, and the shadow box card - the tutorial by our very own Jules (Always with a Heart blog).  I altered the size to fit a 5x7 envelope, and surprise it does fit in, but it could do with being a dimensional envelope, so I will have to have a play and see if I can make one.  As the embellishments and image are created by using my snippets, I am off to play in the snippets playground again this week - it's still a little chilly though!
Sitting at the front of the card is a tag - this has been designed so that you can write on your greeting, and then attach the tag to the back of the card with double sided tape.  It seemed a shame to just write on the back of the card over the pattern.  Oh, sorry, I forgot to say that I printed onto white cardstock on both sides using Pink Petticoat papers - Grannies wallpaper in sweet bohemia, and a dotted in the same colour.
Thanks for looking. x

Seeing stars - Sketch Saturday

Here is this week's sketch at Sketch Saturday:
and here is my take on it.  The card base is Elegant Eggplant, and the DSP is Parkers Pattern Papers from Stampin' Up.  Bling and sentiment from Hobby Craft.  As the DSP and sentiment are from snippets, I will be visiting Di's Snippets Playground this week - I wonder if there are any easter eggs left?
