The idea for the above card came from Pinterest, which I had pinned to my board. I used papers from Raspberry Road Designs (Love Lives Here) which were free in Quick Cards Made Easy magazine some time ago.
This card is a joy fold card which was in the QCME magazine in the card school (May 2013). This used some papers from the Crafter's Companion BeBunni everyday range which I purchased in the sale to give it a try. Good quality kit, but I think it is a bit too 'cutsie' for me - but good value for selling for charity.
Mojo is still not quite up and running. It took me ages to do these two cards! :-)
Happy crafting - hope you are doing better than I am, lol. Lynn x

A bit of DIY
Hi there, hope you are having a good weekend. Here is a piccie of a photo light box that my hubby made me. I used it when I took the picture on my previous post - it works really well I think.
I used Pinterest as a source of information - isn't technology wonderful! - This uses three pieces of white foam board which we had stored away from when my son was doing his DT project. It only cost me pennies for the baking parchment and a roll of invisible tape. The back and sides are taped together so just folds away, and as you can see they just rest on the base, and the offcuts make up the lid. I just use my desk lamp to shine through the baking parchment. Hope you like. Lynn x

2014
Happy New Year everyone, and I hope that whatever is in store for you this year, there will be much happiness and good health and fortune. I have spent a lovely day with family, and this pic is of a little gift I have given to my two (grown up) boys and their girlfriends.
It's a wibble wobble Santa, filled with sweets - but most importantly he is also a money box. Just the job to get them all into the 'saving for a rainy day' habit. A good new year's resolution, eh?, lol. Have a happy day.

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to everyone. Hope Santa has been, and that you have what you wished for.
I have had a lovely day with my family, and our Christmas Lunch was fantastic. So that was my Santa wish fulfilled - a wonderful day with family. Hope you did too. Happy New Year to you all.

Snippets card no. 2
Hi there, I am back again to join the playground, and, yay, this post will be no.63 on the list - Di will be so pleased!
This card uses snippets from my Design papers (SU Basic Birthday), and snippets left after making the card base and mat. Flowers are a Marianne die, and the leaf die and stamp are from Stampin Up.
Thanks for looking. Lynn x

snippets playground - week 100! and Sketch Saturday
Hello everyone, just popped over to Di's blog (here), and she is on week 100 for the snippets playground. Well done Di! You do a great job. She would like you to enter your snippets project so that the playground can reach 60 entries, which would be great on such a special milestone week. I will try and enter up to my 3 entries, and this is the first one, using the sketch from this weeks Sketch Saturday:
Snippets I used are a piece of coredinations cardstock, embossed with Crafter's Companion emboss folder, and a piece of design paper from Stampin Up (Basic Birthday). A snippet of silver grey ribbon, and the stamp is from Clearly Besotted (Birthday collection), stamped onto a tiny scrap of cream card. Back tomorrow, with another snippet card. Please join in if you can.

vibrant birthday!
Hi there, hope everyone is feeling well, and getting ready for Christmas countdown.
I was rummaging through my ribbon box and thought I would try and match my card colours to my ribbons as there are a few which have been in the box for quite a while. This is what came about:
I picked out the two greens and the background to the ribbon is a pale yellow. The base card is SU gumball green, and then other mats are from my Coredinations cardstock (elements). The die cuts are Stampin Up, and so are the candy dots. I decided to leave the die on the leaf and draw around the inside edge with my SU marker to match the card base. I quite like to look. Sentiment is a Crafters Companion one which I have had for a long time. Colours are a bit more muted in real life - just can't get the saturation right on photo.
It's about time I got some Christmas cards made - eek! Have a good weekend. Lynn x

Acid Drops and Whatnots
Hi everyone, this is a card showing stamps from Acid Drops and Whatnots which I had with a magazine some time ago (I can't remember the name of the mag now!).
The backing papers were also part of the freebie. This is for a friend who does a lot of swimming, and I thought it would make her smile. Coloured with my Spectrum Noirs - beginning to get the hang of this blending lark now - (I hope)!
Middle of the week already - how did that happen? Lynn x

A little shabby chic?
This card is not how I envisaged it would turn out at all!
I thought clean and simple - but ideas just kept running. The image and background papers come from the CD free from Crafter's Companion Inspiration 3 mag (Camden Town). The background paper was embossed with butterflies corner Diesire 6x6 embossing folder. I then rubbed some pink ink around the edges and clear embossed, as I did with the blue mat panel, which was embossed with a sizzix folder and sanded to show core (coredinations cardstock). Ribbon and butterflies are Stampin Up, and labels are Diesire, from CC. Bit of bling added. Thanks for looking. Enjoy your weekend. Lynn x

Crafty Cardmakers and Sketch Saturday
Hi there, I seem to be in a purple mode at the moment. My card uses the sketch at Sketch Saturday, and fits Crafty Cardmakers' challenge which is monochrome purple.
The image is a rubber stamp from the new Bebunni range from Crafters Companion, and also the clouds embossing folder is also from a new range by Diesire. Thanks for looking. Lynn x

3D project
I was having a go at making a box to hold some choccies in for christmas gifts. I came across this link from another blog, but cannot remember where from, so I am sorry I cannot give credit where credit is due.
I have used Bazzil cardstock here, which is a bit flimsy when the cup is full (at the moment it is holding five 2-finger chocolate biscuit bars). But as a proto-type at least it worked out. My piece of cardstock was 27cm x 16.5cm. Vertical scoring was every 3cm (making 9 sections - 9th section cut as a tab to glue inside cup).
The horizontal scoring line is approximately one-third of the vertical side. Cut slits up to the score line on the vertical scores to make the strips to form the base. The handle was cut using circle nesties. Will do this design again, and I think it will work with thicker cardstock, and larger tabs to secure the handle.
As this was done with an already cut-into piece of 12x12 cardstock, I shall be playing in the snippet playground. I wonder if all the pumpkins have gone yet?!

A little bit of glam!
Hi folks, hope you enjoyed your spooky Halloween if you celebrate it. Today my cards are taken from the disk from Crafter's Companion 'Frou Frou' range which came with the recent Inspiration magazine.
I don't do much CD crafting, and I tend to be a hybrid crafter - some print straight to card, and then selecting toppers to add a bit of dimension. The stamping is from two SU range of stamps. The bling and ribbon I got from Wilkinson store (Wilko's as I affectionately call it). The insert I also made from the CD. I tend to use Microsoft Publisher, and play around with placement on there. Thanks for looking. Have a good Friday. Lynn x

borrowing a little bit of inspiration
Hello there, just finishing off a few cards for birthdays, and my mojo has gone AWOL. Cruising through the blogsphere I found this lovely Stampin Up blog here, and I admired the clean and simple lines of Brian's cards - so much so that I have CASed one of his designs (September post).
I have used coastal cabana as a card base, very vanilla cardstock, some DSP from Birthday Basics, and the sentiment is computer generated (bradley hand font). As I have used a snippet of DSP, I shall be going over to the Snippets Playground. Thanks for looking, and do pay Brian and visit, he has some great ideas. Lynn x

Christmas is coming!
Hi there everyone, I decided today to have a play with the new stamp and emboss folder that was free in my Quick Cards magazine, before the next one arrives, lol. As you can see, the designs speak of winter and Christmas. It is a beautiful stamp and embossed very well with my silver detail emboss powder. The emboss folder went through the Big Shot very well, using the same sandwich as for the fiskars plates.
As I have used snippets of coastal cabana blue on my card, I am on my way to the Snippets Playground. I spy Parsnip in his new wellingtons standing next to a very large puddle, with a cheeky grin on his face - watch out playmates! Forgot to say that this is Mojo Monday sketch, so I shall like to there.

Sketch Saturday #281
Hello there, hope your weekend is going well - it has been a beautiful day here. Here is the sketch for this week's Sketch Saturday
A good clean and simple sketch, and so I have stuck close to the sketch.
Papers are from Stampin Up and Pink Petticoat (Isabelline), sentiment from Pink Petticoat, and the stamp is Penny Black. Had a go with my new Spectrum Noir pens - just got to get used to the gradient in colour families. Some snippets used here so I shall be calling in to the Snippets Playground when the gates are open again on Sunday. See you there! Lynn x

Seize the Sketch # 6
Time goes by so quickly, so today I decided I would do at least one post this week! Here is this week's sketch at Seize the Sketch
Here is what I came up with:
It looks a bit bright here! The cardstock is strawberry slush and summer starfruit from Stampin Up. The scrap of DSP is from Birthday Basics. The sentiment is stamp set Memorable Moments - and various die cuts and punches. As I have used up a few scraps, I shall be off to see Parsnip in the Snippets Playground. I hope he is keeping all the playground friends in order. Lynn x

Well done!
Hi all, a quick card to be made as I heard that a family member had just passed her driving test. This is what I made
Card base is SU strawberry slush, with a touch of coastal cabana. The stamps are from various SU sets - that metal embossing folder (again!), and various die cuts. I bet she can't afford a sporty job like this one for a while, lol. Have a good rest of the week. Lynn x

flowers for Nessa and Snippets Playground
Hi there all, what a gorgeous day today has been. I would like to say hello to my new follower Sue from Ollismam - a warm welcome to you. This card is for a challenge over at Nessa's blog, where she would like to see a creation with flowers.
This card is made up of all snippets, even the card base. You know how it goes, something doesn't look right you cut it off don't you, lol. The stamps and dies are Stampin Up Secret Garden. The layers are done with my rectangle nestabilities. The card base has been embossed with a Diesire folder (metal), which I think looks like basket weave on the deboss side. This card is also being posted to the Snippets Playground. Thanks for looking, Lynn x

Seize the Sketch #5
I really like this sketch
Here is what I did with it
I have used Stampin Up card and Birthday Basics DSP. The brad is also Stampin Up. The sentiment is a digi which I have had for a while which was a freebie from Desert Diva blog. I shall try and aim for a masculine card when I try this sketch again. As this card used snippets, I shall be playing in the Snippets Playground again - see you there. Thanks for looking. (I am going to try and schedule this post, just because I want to try it out - wish me luck!).
