Seize the sketch #2 - birthday basics

It's busy over the next month in our family for birthdays, and I have used the sketch over at Seize the Sketch again for another make.

This is a DL size card for a change, and I have used the Birthday Basics DSP from Stampin Up.  The sentiment was a freebie from Craft Stamper a long time ago.  See you soon. Lynn x

Modern Medley

Hello everyone, a quick post before I dive into the housework.  I recently got hold of my new Stampin Up DSP,  'Modern Medley' and here is a card, attempting to use the 'sunburst' technique.
The mat and trim is a piece of Strawberry Slush card, and the flower  is part of a Sizzix die.  The flourish leaves came from a cuttlebug die, and just a bit of bling.  Thanks for looking. Lynn x

Seize the Sketch # 2

Hi there, Well, we have some great news from my brother and sister-in-laws' children - they have done well in their GCSE and AS levels - woohoo!  A congrats card is on the way to them.  I used this week's Seize the Sketch inspiration -
I rotated the sketch, and here is my card, using SU in-colours (what makes you think I don't have much cardstock, lol), and April 2013 freebies from TAWS blog. Have a good day.

clean and simple happy birthday

Hi there, today I have made a card using this weeks sketch over at Clean and Simple blog.
I have used the Stampin Up new in-colour cardstock, and the sentiment and image are freebies (April) from The Alleway Stamp store *here*.  Thanks for looking, and have a good day.

hedgie birthday

What a beautiful, sunny Wednesday morning.  I must make the best of it before work beckons! Today I have a Penny Black stamp to show you, rushing their birthday wishes.  I didn't put a sentiment on because the label on the present says 'for you', which says it all I think!
The card base is Stampin Up 'pistachio pudding' and the background papers are Pink Petticoat (Big Fella).
As the backing papers, and mats are all from my scrap draw this card will be rushing its way to the Snippets Playground. Have a good day!

Sketch Saturday and 'Fun in the Sun'

I visited Viv's blog *here* and she had entered a gorgeous card for the Crafty Cardmaker's challenge 'Fun in the Sun' (Viv is a design team member).  I immediately thought of my newly purchased beach papers and tiny sentiments from Pink Petticoat, and thought I would join in the fun.  Here is my card -
I have used the current sketch from Sketch Saturday for the layout of my card. The image is from Stampin Up 'Sail Away', and the die-cuts are Spellbinders - quite old now I think. Although I have never tried sailing, I am sure it would be a pleasant 'fun in the sun' activity :-)  Time for me to link up to the two challenges now.

Hot off the Press

Hi there, here are some cards which I recently made using the paper pack from Hot off the Press called Home Grown, which was free with issue 112 of Simply Cards and Papercraft. Hope you like!

I would not have deliberately bought this pack, but have really enjoyed working with it, and produced very different cards to what I normally make - I think they have a more 'scrapbook' look to them.  Thanks for looking.

Sailing

Hi there, it looks as though we are in for a lovely sunny Wednesday.  Here is a card I made with a first inking of a Stampin Up stamp which I have had for ages. The card colours are coastal cabana and baked brown sugar.
The sentiment is one from Clearly Besotted, and the papers are snippets of the Beach papers from Pink Petticoat.  As I have used snippets I'm off to the snippets playground at Di's (Pixie's Crafty Workshop). Here's a sneek peek of the inside.
See you soon. x

Seize the sketch #1

Hi there, a new sister challenge blog to Seize the Birthday, called Seize the Sketch commenced on Tuesday.
Here is the sketch, and my card.
A peek at the inside -
The cardstock is the new SU in-colours, Crisp Cantaloupe and Coastal Cabana.  The flower is a sizzix die from SU, fancy flowers, and the butterflies are a sizzlits die - sentiment computer generated.  The flower is a clay flower.  The cut-out hexagons are a Clearly Besotted die.
Please stop by the new challenge blog - the design team have introduced themselves.  They kindly ask that you comment on at least five of the entries, so I am going over there to do that right now!  Have fun with the new challenge. x

On the beach

Hi there,  I have been playing with the new beach papers from Pink Petticoat.  I saw the phrase as I was on Pinterest, and thought it would go great with this card.  The flip flops are done with shrink plastic, which I have not used in ages.
Have a good day!

Back at my crafting desk

Hello there, I have been a long time away from my crafting table - my job has taken up most of my time unfortunately.  However, I have some time to myself now, and hope to blog frequently.
I have been playing with a new Stampin Up stamp set and dies (secret garden), and the new in-colours.  I have also had a go with the new air-dry clay and flower molds, as you can see from the embellishment in the corner.  Thank you for looking, and I hope to be back soon. x

Humour - LIM

What a fantastic day today! - the sun is shining!  Well, made this card last night after looking at all the loveliness the Limettes entered for this latest challenge at Less is More - lots of giggles!  Hopped over to the Bugaboo digi stamps site and chose this digi from the Stella collection.
Easy to colour with my promarkers, and mat and layered with red and grey card.  The sentiment from the Happy Birthday set from Clearly Besotted fitted quite nicely.  Will try to leave comments later folks - just finishing off cleaning windows, washing nets and draw curtains - oh, and the wall behind the curtains now :-(
Have a good day. x

Cheers!

Hi there, hope everyone had a great Bank Holiday weekend - back to rain and more rain now :-(
Here is a make for Father's Day.
I have used patterned papers (Basics, and Ditsy Rose) from Digistamp Boutique, and a new digi image.  As I have a few soda pop tops left from Stampin Up, I thought this would be a suitable embellishment!  Just ran it through my Big Shot to squash it down, and computer generated the sentiment and cut out with my 1" circle punch. Entering this card into the Digistamp Boutique Blog, where there are freebies up for grabs. Thanks for looking. x

Friday Sketch challenge

Challenge 44 at Friday Sketch challenge, and the sketch is by Marie -
This is what I came up with, using Stampin Up regals colour base card,  scraps of DSP, the last of my black card (*sigh*), nestabilities dies and a sentiment and images  from Clearly Besotted 'Happy Birthday'. Oh, and the little '21' tag is one of the tag shapes from Digistamp Boutique, which are proving to be very useful. As I have used shippets, I shall be playing in the sunshine in the Snippets Playground  (challenge 73) at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.
Thanks for looking, and have a great Bank Holiday weekend - the sun is shining! :-)

STB no. 17

Hi there, hope everyone had a good day.  I am now looking forward to a week off work :-)
This is my card for Seize the Birthday, and here is the sketch:
My card takes inspiration from Glenda, where she turned the sketch around - my image seemed to sit better that way -
The image and backing paper is from Digistamp Boutique, and the 'happy birthday' is a freebie,  but unfortunately I did not tag where it was from.  The 'brother' is a stamp from a birthday set from Clearly Besotted, which happened to sit nicely on the sentiment tag.

pamper yourself

Hi there, hope you all had a good weekend.  The weather yesterday was glorious, and we managed to get out into the garden again.
This is a commission card, which uses a Digistamp Boutique image and papers.  I have also used the new sentiment and tags (the heart).  This card is being entered onto the Digistamp Boutique blog (you could win some freebies).  Thanks for looking. x

Joy fold card and snippets

Hope you all had a good weekend - we have finished decorating the bedroom at last! Not my favourite thing to do.  I have used the tutorial in this month's Quick Cards magazine, which was done by Jules - you can see one of her creations here, to make a joy fold card.  I think this design may be one I will use again.  Thanks Jules.

The papers are Parkers Pattern Papers from Stampin Up.  Now it does look like an explosion, and this card is for my son, who is not particularly fond of too much colour - but I thought at least he's not wearing it, it is just standing on the mantlepiece, lol.  It does look better in real life, but I may just try again with different design papers.  As the papers used up snippets I'm off to play in the playground

STB challenge 16

Seize the Birthday has had a bit of a make-over (love it ladies!), and it is now a fortnightly challenge, and a voting system thrown in too!  This is the sketch: (Can't seem to upload the sketch, so have given the link to the website only - sorry)
and here is my card:

I have used Stampin Up Collage Curios, and the co-ordinating bottle caps, which I flattened in my Big Shot. The sentiment is one of Pink Petticoat's Happy Birthday messages.  Thank you for looking x

Made Easy Monday

Hi there, hope you all had a glorious Bank Holiday - hubby and I spent the time in the garden; bliss!  Yes, I know it is Tuesday, although at work I have had to keep reminding myself - but I made my card last night.  And why 'Made Easy'?  Well, Mr. Mojo had gone walkies, so I picked up my pile of Quick Cards Made Easy mags and had a look through - this is what I came up with.

I used one of the fab Pink Petticoat stamps free this month, but I printed my backing paper from my PP files - it should have been 'celery', but the ink was running out and it turned out yellow, but as it happens it was a happy accident :-)  The rectangular panel is a mixture of three washitape designs which were free from another mag ages ago, and I used the quick bargello technique which was featured in a previous Quick Cards.  The chipboard heart fitted in with the gingham on the panel, another freebie from the mag, I think last month - the sentiment is PP also -  there you are, job done!
As I have used up bits and pieces, I am entering this card into the Snippets challenge over at Pixie's Crafty Workshop - hope the ice-cream van is still in the playground!

Engraved Happy Birthday

Hi there, hope you have all had a good day - it has been gorgeous weather here.  I recently tidied out my craft box, and thought I would use some stamps that have not seen much love.  This card features the Engraved Happy Birthday stamp from SU, and I have used up some snippets of DSP, and so I will be going over into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop - hope the sun keeps shining.
